Default Bitter Springs Part 2 June 6

There seems to be enough interest that I will lead another trail ride in the Bitter Springs area. There are other trails to be ridden and we can re-visit some favorites of the last ride.
I'm proposing meeting at 5am and be ready to ride no later than 5:30.
Depending on who is joining this ride we will either meet at the Valley of Fire road like last time or at the Gamblers pit area.
When the time gets closer I can look at the rider list to decide.

Same rules as before:
Full riding gear.
Larger bikes (KLR & DR 650's) can come this time. I can redirect them around the stuff that I feel would be too dangerous for them.

If you can't respect my views on the suitability of you or your bike on some these trails, just don't come. You can come out any other time and get hurt without it on my conscience.

I would say for gas mileage, 60 miles if we park at VoF
Under 40miles if at the Gambler pits. With the ability to have an intermisson break at the trucks.

Let me know how you all feel about this.
Thanks, Tom.

Sounds like a hoot...

But i don't have the PPE yet and simply can't afford it right now so i guess i'm not supposed to go. The boots i borrowed are simply too stiff and i don't feel safe wearing em cause i can't shift right and missing a shift can be disasterous. I am going to look into a chest protector and elbow pads soon tho. As far as anything else that is big bucks... i will have to wait.

I must say with experience, You MUST have ALL gear to visit this place. Every new rider to the area last week went down. Most of them multiple times including myself! Its funny both SLOMO and I pulled our hamstrings. My leg is killin me!

I dropped it multiple times. And missed tons of shifts...multiple times. No biggie. Bike just got a few new scratches. Wear the boots, chest protector is around $50ish, knee pads around $15. Lots of riding pants for around $60. That is cheap man. It's worth it.

Can't make this one Tom. I'm doing another ride out of state that weekend.

Dirtbag. If you want to come out with us and ride in the area, there are many roads and gravel washes you can ride. You're welcome to explore the area. Others can too. It is just a few trails that are extrememly unforgiving.
As was noted all the new riders went down at least once. Even TJ and I had some close saves. Gary, well Gary is mister smooth.
