Default 2-7-10 XJ Maiden Voyage Cottonwood Mud Ride

I had been doing research and decided I wanted a trail vehicle suitable for carrying more people than myself, a weekend mobile so to speak. I tried taking my 'ol lady two up on my DR650 once before to show her some of the beautiful scenery I get to see on my bike. After that outing lets just say that two up trail riding on the DR650 wasn't for us.

It had to be capable, reliable, practical, utilitarian, and cheap would be good too. After about two months of searching and finding nothing but jeeps that were ready for the scrap yard I finally found this example that needed little more than an oil change a willing driver.

Off to nearby Cottonwood road we went.

Didn't realize this was supposed to be slippery till I tried walking on it.

I heard these things can go all the way through Potato Gap in stock trim with a little creativity. Not having any personal experience with it I figured this little outcropping might be interesting. It wasn't, XJ just cruised like it wasn't there.

With a little luck I should have this thing lifted in no time.

Although the XJ is a very capable truck, just like bikes, you shouldnt wander into the desert alone! I had an XJ, really loved that thing but right now I have a ZJ and a TJ, but really really miss my CJ!
Nice find

Quite a few of us have Jeeps. There was even talk (jokes?) about starting a M4W section on here...

I was out by Ft. Paiute in the rain on Saturday in my Jeep and I'm supposed to be at the Nellis Dunes right now with some friends in 4x4s BBQing...

We should organize a M2W M4W run...

I know that HHH and Rozar have Jeeps. Who else has a 4x4?

We wouldnt expect anything less from you! I suppose it even has holes in the floor boards so you could eliminate the spitoon.

As long as Im barred from riding, I could see myself running the JEEP.
